Happy, happy Wednesday y’all! This week is somehow close to being halfway over and I can hardly believe it. I feel like I say that often but y’all, how is it Wednesday? This weekend, I was able to get a ton of things knocked off my to-do list, did a little shopping, start planning for my trip this weekend and got all my laundry done. I know – the life is so fab. Shopping and seeking out the best deals always put me in a good mood and help me feel reenergized. For any new readers around, this blog started as strictly style and I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t cover anything else. However, over the past two years, I’ve explored bits of beauty, pet, travel and lifestyle, which have been amazing outlets to be able to share. Even with that, shopping and shooting for style related content will always be at the top of my heart. Especially work wear, since many people struggle with what to wear daily on the job, I get so excited to bring new ideas to y’all! So, today, I’m excited to be sharing something that’s been highly requested: how to wear my weekend basics to work! Let’s dig in!
For me, separating work wear and weekend wear has always been a struggle. I love being able to mix my favorite comfy wear into work style, since we spend so much time at work. However, there are a few items of clothing that have been deemed “off limits” for work such as ripped jeans, open-toe sandals, t-shirts and so on. However, depending on where you work, your dress code may vary and/or have more flexibility. In February, I covered business professional workstyle with Maggy London, which I absolutely adored! Because I teach at a community college there’s no jeans or graphic tees usually allowed but something I have loved adding to my work style is basic tees. My favorite white v-neck (linked above and below) is an absolute statement item.
After grabbing my white tee, the next thing I’m going to find is something high-waisted, such as a skirt or pixie pants. I feel like the biggest part of a white tee that makes it look like a white tee is the bottom hem. So anything that will cover that is perfect. Because I love to layer and am usually cold, a long cardigan that can cover the back bottom hem of the tee is my next step when dressing. Now, depending on your personal style, shoes may vary but anytime I wear a tee to work or somewhere business casual, I’m always going for a pair of heels on my feet. Short or tall or medium or chunky or thin, doesn’t matter, just a heel. I recently picked up these black pumps on a super clearance rack locally but linked them above and below for y’all. They are the perfect medium height for me to run around all day + give me the extra height/boost I need. If you prefer flats, simple solid colored flats or mules would work perfectly. Taking a few minutes to find my everyday silver stud earrings, platinum watch and monogrammed ring, I’m ready to head out the door sporting my comfy white v-neck to work.
One thing I loved about working at a small business in the past was that I could style graphic tees at work. Now as a blogger/digital influencer, I can wear whatever I want on work days. Mixing my comfy weekend style with work staples is a great way to keep my work style interesting and different but also cozy for the work to play evenings.
Well friends, that’s all for today’s post! If you want to see more business casual work style featuring graphic tees or bold prints, let me know in the comments!
