Happy #TravelTuesday, sweet friends! I hope each of you had a lovely (& warm) holiday weekend and are gearing up for an even better week ahead. If you were following along over on my Instagram stories, you may have seen that I was down for the count/out of commission last week due to being sick. This week, I’m feeling 90% better and am excited to finally be able to get back into grind mode. There’s nothing like being ill that reminds you to be grateful for being able to breathe day in and day out. Am I right?
Before 2018 ended, I had the opportunity to visit one of my dream cities, Nashville, for about 36 hours. Whenever I travel, my biggest goal is to find the gems of that town including food spots, historic steps, fun murals and everything in between. This trip was mostly focused on food so I tried to explore as many food spots that y’all suggested in 1.5 days. So, let’s get the food diary started:
Stop 1: Fido – McFido bagel, cheddar broccoli & fries (duh)
Stop 2: Jeni’s Ice Cream – Brown Butter Almond Brittle & Gooey Butter Cake
Stop 2.5: Milk & Honey – This is one of the top places I want to visit when I go back because they were on a 2-hour wait just to sit and get a coffee. I’ve heard wonderful reviews and about 15 people suggested it as a must-go place when traveling. The decor was gorgeous and the place smelled like fresh pastries & espresso!
Stop 3: Kona Espresso Bar – Quick coffee with two shots of espresso to work for a bit
Stop 4: City Fire – Adobo hummus & Nash Vegas French Toast (skillet fried hot chicken, brioche french toast, chipotle honey, warm maple syrup & bacon – SO AMAZING)
Break: Shopping at LOFT (picked up the poncho below), blog & client work at Caviar & Bananas
Stop 5: Hopdoddy Burger Bar – S’mores shake, Bananas Foster shake & parmesan truffle fries
Stop 6: The Cafe at Thistle Farms – Chicken salad sandwich, s’mores coffee & chicken pot pie
Stop 7: Vanderbilt for a She’s The First baking session – Tie-dye cupcakes
Well friends, that’s all that I have for today! I’m already planning to visit again this year because y’all, there is so much to see! Next time, we want to explore more of the museums, culture and murals. Have you guys been to Nashville? If so, let me know where your favorite places to visit are in the comments! I’ll be sure to add them to my list. Thanks so much for reading! -xo, Azanique <3

These are the most dangerous kinds of travel posts for me because I exit the tab with my mouth watering and my stomach growling – even though I just ate! Haha! Sounds like you had a great time enjoying new foods.
