Happy Monday, babes. I am so excited to share this fun post with you. For those of you who have been following me for some time, you know that I have been part of Style Collective since November, which is when I started this blog. I jumped on this opportunity to learn from A M A Z I N G women and network with brands. I can honestly say, it has been the best decision in blogging that I have made. In the past 6 months, I have made so many wonderful friends and shared tons of laughs and wine with these amazing ladies. I am honored to have been nominated for the Fearless Award by the Style Collective HWIC (Head Women In Charge), Annie Spano.
The Fearless Award is an award for #BOSSBABES who empower other women to do what they love! Style Collective is a platform for female influencers to connect, grow, and learn how to be successful bloggers and entrepreneurs. The Fearless Award is a way to empower and connect with other bloggers/Instagrammers that you want to get to know, affirm a girl boss you’ve always looked up to, share the love around your network, or encourage a new blogger/Instagrammer on her path!
Fearless Award Questions:
Who are you?!
My name is Azanique Rawl and I am a recent college grad from East Carolina University. I am a New Jersey native, but have been living in NC for the past 5 years for school and work. I started this blog, lotsofsass, back in November of 2016 and really starting to work on it in January of 2017. I am a Chick-fil-A & Jesus lover everyday of the week. I love volunteering and giving back to my community by supporting girls’ education and women empowerment both in the US and globally.
What is your blog/Instagram all about?
My blog is about me just having fun with outfits and life. I have several categories on blog and though I most post about fashion, I love posting about home decor, day trips and other lifestyle topics. Moving apartments may possibly be in my future, and I am so excited at the thought of sharing my decor and organization with you all. I love love love decorating and organizing my home and I have so many tricks/tips I have been dying to share. My Instagram is a fun way I express myself and style through pictures for the world to see. Just an FYI, you can find me on Twitter and Facebook, too 🙂
What do you LOVE about blogging/Instagramming?
I absolutely love how many amazing girls I have gotten to meet. Outside of the collaborations and contracts, blogging has been such a great way to build a group of amazing #GirlBosses and be around women who truly understand you in ways that some of your can’t. On a more personal level, blogging has taught me to be comfortable in front of a camera. For all my friends IRL, you know I h a t e jumping in pictures. Blogging has definitely showed me how to challenge that.
What do you not love about blogging/Instagramming?
Honestly, I hate the comparison. It gets really easy to compare yourself when every time you look at your phone, there is another picture of a beautiful, thin, happy girl model with nice shoes and designer bags. I think with social media and blogging, we can get caught up in the perfection of pictures and appearance online and sometimes lose ourselves in real life.
What are your goals (big and small!) for your blog/Instagram?
I would love to create a place where women can come to get fashion inspiration for every day life to special event galas and everything in between. I would also love to share more home decor and organization hacks.
If you could be better at one thing, what would it be?
I would definitely like to get better at consistency. Working full-time and juggling about 4 other sets of responsibilities + blogging is no joke. I really want to work on my consistency with posting/shooting/sharing outfits so that my readers always know when new posts will go up.
Who are your biggest supporters? How/why?
I have a few friends that fully support my blog and it is honestly amazing. Because I am still starting out/kinda new, I have so many people that don’t understand and make assumptions about blogging and the blogging world, which is the furthest thing from support. However, I am so lucky to have a few great friends who understand and amazing blogger friends who always get where I am coming from.
What do you wish there was more of in your life?
I wish there was more free space in my life. My days are always full, but my heart on those days, not so much. I definitely want to get back into reading nightly and spending more time on devotionals. I also would love to have more time with my friends at home and time to spend traveling. One day I see all this working out, but until then, I’ll be working working working all day & night and finding my happiness in this crazy life.
