Happy Wednesday, sweet friends! If you made it to humpday, you’re halfway through the week and a week from Thanksgiving break! If you’re like me and literally just realized Thanksgiving was next week (insert *heavy* eye roll) then you’re probably scrambling to figure out what to wear. Even though you’ll probably be in your grandma’s small living room sitting Indian style with a bunch of family you haven’t seen since last holiday season, your outfit is still at the top of your planning list. Last year, I shared my season favorite poncho that I wore all day on Thanksgiving in Atlanta. As always, this year I plan on wearing my favorite cape or poncho for a few reasons.
1 | Don’t need to suck in my food baby – Hello, extra tummy room (& two pieces of pie)
2 | Easy to get up and go – It never fails that someone forgets something and we end up running to the local grocery store for last minute cutlery or snacks.
3 | Less to coordinate for family pictures – My family loves to get group shots on holidays, so wearing something like a poncho/cape means less color coordinating and layering.
4 | Comfort – Something else that always happen during the holidays is that I end up sitting on the floor. Considering that comfort is the main thing I look for when shopping, anything I’m wearing on the 3-day event of Thanksgiving is going to be comfy enough to run a mile in or to eat my weight in apple pie without notice.
Since this Thanksgiving will be much cooler (it was 70 degrees in 2017), I’ll be styling a thicker poncho this time around with leggings that are lined with faux fur. Below, I rounded up 4 of my favorite light-weight ponchos and 4 heavy-weight ponchos. All of them will be delivered before Thanksgiving with standard delivery at home or you can pick them up at your local store! Shop them here, then let me know in the comments what your go-to outfit essentials for Thanksgiving are. Thanks so much for reading! -xo, Azanique <3

Literally all of your reasons for wearing a poncho for Thanksgiving makes me want to get a poncho, especially hiding the extra turkey weight. The one you’re wearing is so cute!
