Happy Thursday, sweet friends! I hope you all are having a lovely week. Over here, this was my first week back to work in a month and I’m pretty sure my brain and body are in two different places right know. Even though I had a pretty light week, I feel like I’m struggling to get back on track but I am hopeful that next week will be better. On a related but not related note, if you haven’t created goals for 2019, you are not alone. This year, compared to last year, I am trying to be even more strategic with my goals. In particular, I am craving major discipline this year. In every aspect of my life, discipline is why I haven’t progressed at the rate I want and have been feeling overwhelmingly anxious. If we’re being honest, I don’t think I have ever wanted to practice discipline because it’s a “hard” word to execute. However, in the spirit of wanting to make 2019 my best year, I am trying (& currently failing, in all transparency) to discipline myself into being more consistent with blogging, waking up earlier and becoming more dedicated to my professional development, along with a few smaller things. If you have a word for 2019, I would love to know in the comments. In a couple weeks, I’ll be sharing more about how/why I needed to pick this word for this year.
Anyway, a few weeks back, I met up for brunch with a few North Carolina bloggers in downtown Raleigh. Unlike majority of blogger events I attend, I didn’t know any of these gals previously. There was something so fun and refreshing about being around new spirits that all understood blogging life and the struggles and beauty that comes with it. Since I knew I would want to be comfortable enough to sit for a few hours, eat whatever I wanted and be prepared for pictures, a sweater dress was the first thing I grabbed. This dress is now 50% (major steal) and will be a winter closet staple no matter where you live. If you’re like me, the first think you’re probably wondering is if the dress is see-through: N O – not see-through at all. Whenever I’m shopping for dresses, I have to do: 1. Light test & 2. Bend test. This dress passed both for me. Since brunch was on a chilly day, I paired it with my favorite OTK boots and patterned scarf (not shown). This dress would also be a great layering piece with your long jackets and can be worn to brunch or a casual work environment and every where in between.
Are you guys wearing sweater dresses this year? Honestly, I haven’t worn one in years but I couldn’t resist this one since I wouldn’t have to wear a jacket when styling it. Plus, it matched perfectly with my boots. If you’re shopping for sweater dresses this season, in the comments, let me know what your must-haves are for it! I would love to help you find the best pieces for your winter wardrobe 🙂
Thanks so much for reading y’all. Have a beautiful Thursday. -xo, Azanique <3
