Friends, how is already mid-march? Truly, I am in denial that the first quarter of the year is almost over. As you all know, I spent most of January and February moving and settling in. Now that March is in full swing, my goal has been to get back out in the world: consistently going to workout classes, art events, accepting Bumble BFF hangouts and so on. And now, I’m in the mood to host!
Admittedly, my new outdoor space is smaller than my previous outdoor space and my dining room is where all my “to be figured out” items are but I refuse to let either of those facts stop me from hosting this season. I have enough room on my outdoor balcony for a table with 5 chairs and my sofa with a side chair AKA I could comfortably host 8 or so people for a casual gathering and at least 5 for a seated dinner party. Side note: one of the best things about moving is getting to see everything you have in a new light. And luckily, the organizers (thank God for people with this type of talent and care) have found a place for everything and put everything in its place.
With eyes set on Spring and my love hosting reignited, I have been browsing pretty tabletop items and today I’m excited to share 50+ items under $50 I’m currently loving and using. Let’s jump in!
I’ve been dying to pull out my Helenita plates and this fun block print tablecloth + napkin set from my Paris trip, along with some other oldies, but goodies, like the faux bamboo cutlery, bud vases (thrifted) and taper candles. New to my hosting closet that I am absolutely loving are these floral stem coupes and floral taper candle holders. Y’all, these are a dream! When I found these glasses, I was reminded of a brand I’ve been eyeing for years (and still want one day) but I couldn’t bring myself to spend $200+ on a set of six. So in my search for alternatives, I found this super affordable option when they were half off making them less than $13 each – what a steal! And while I was there, I found complimentary taper candle holders also on sale. Truly a beautiful shopping day!
Everyday I am learning to appreciate the smaller outdoor space, with less maintenance, more and more as I think about the start of Spring prep I had to do at my previous home like lay additional mulch, blow leaves, try to get rid of weeds and so on. I also have a personal goal to host once a month this year and I know this outdoor space will be the key to casual gatherings and many great conversations over wine and snacks without having to worry about mosquitos or creepy crawlers. I hope you find something you love in the below round-up and a way to add just a little more fun to hosting this season.
