Hey friends hey! Happy Thursday to you all 🙂 It is a beautiful week here in North Carolina and I cannot express how happy I am that spring weather will be in the air all week long and will stick around well into next week. On Monday, I visited bartaco in Chapel Hill for a fun PR lunch with my friend Savannah, @theperfectedmess and we had a blast sitting on their patio indulging in too many tacos and gelato. It was so refreshing, after the pasts few weeks of packed weeks and events, to be able to sit down and enjoy a fun meal with a great friend. I would love to know what places do y’all enjoy going to during the warmer months? I try to only visit restaurants with patio spaces as the temperatures rise so I can get a good meal + my dose of vitamin C for the day. If they are dog friendly, that’s a huge plus, especially since I try to take my pup out with me everywhere in the warmer seasons.
So, it’s no surprise that I’m a picnic in the park kind of girl. Whether just for an afternoon work space, summer date night or fun afternoon with friends, you will find me at our local town park twice a week when the weather permits. When I find myself enjoying a planned day at the park for a cute date night or catching up with friends, I sometimes spend hours putting together a huge picnic basket of about 5 different foods and drinks, games, treats and more. However, lately I have been finding more fun by creating spur of the moment plans for picnics and enjoying the company and atmosphere more than then 495 items I try to pack. So y’all, I’m excited to share my 5 items in 5 minutes Rosé Wine Basket tutorial for summer picnics!
1 | Rosé, duh – If you guys didn’t know already, Prophecy Rosé AKA “The Goddess of Fortune”, is one of the most affordable and widely available Rosés that I can grab from my local Kroger. This wine is delicate + bright with layered flavors of red fruit, melon and citrus leading to a crisp refreshing finish, all perfect for a warm summer or spring night. Plus, since Prophecy Rosé is in the middle as far as sweetness and tartness, it works perfectly for groups of drinkers that may be wine newbies to Rosé pros. And even though I love my rosé to be chilled in the midst of warm days and evenings, the flavor is still just as lively and worldly at room temperature
2 | Fresh fruit – I prefer a couple strawberries or blackberries in my Rosé, so naturally I packed strawberries for this basket. Strawberries in particular can serve as a glass garnish, a sweet surprise in the drink or just as a snack while sipping on Prophecy Rosé. The best part is that if you decide to add strawberries to your class, your Rosé will have a little bit of a sweeter edge and you’ll be able to enjoy the fruit more once the Rosé has been soaked up.
3 | Water – Y’all, as much as I love wine and cocktails and other fun drinks, I can never get enough water in my life. Also, when having warmer temps during spring and summer nights, it is very important to stay hydrated no matter if you are consuming alcohol or not. Plus, if you have friends that are joining that don’t or don’t care to drink at the time, you’ll be prepared with a cold glass of whatever for the,
4 | Glasses – ICYMI, Prophecy Rosé has a twist off top, so no cork bottle opener is needed but some type of glass or cup will be necessary. Like most parks, glass is prohibited for safety reasons but there are tons of plastic and rubber cup options that work just as well.
5 | Something salty! Because y’all, whenever I’m enjoying any type of sweet alcohol beverage is that I’m always salty treat. My go-to salty treat has always been pretzels (bites and whole sizes) to satisfy my craving.
A few other things that may be helpful but not always available can include a blanket. For me, I always have a blanket in the back of my car for these type of spur of the moment trips but times when I am riding with someone else, we may not have a picnic blanket and may choose to sit on the ground bare or use our sweaters/jackets to sit on. Another thing that optional would be flowers or any other type of decor. I don’t always have fresh flowers or fun props for pictures but they never hurt to have just fo fun. Flowers are also one of the keys to my heart so I greatly appreciate when a casual date happens and I receive flowers either that day, that week or days and week later. Lastly, any type of games would be completely necessary to have. I have been on picnics where a 1 hour date turned into a 3 hour date because we had the Cards Against Humanity game and lost track of time. I’ve also found that sometimes as soon as the sun hints at going down for a few seconds, everyone will pack up and start heading to their car. In these moments, I love to sitback comfortably, watch the sunfall into the night and enjoy my wine without any other distractions.
So friends, those are my 5 must-haves for a 5 minute Prophecy Rosé picnic for this season. What do you usually pack for a quick gathering time with friends? I would love to know in the comments + let me know if you have ever tried Prophecy Rosé in the past. Adorable dress! You always look so pretty! Picnics in the park are so much fun but only if I’m not dealing with too much heat or mosquitos. LOL! My wine of choice is usually Moscato but I’m definitely open to trying others. Thanks for the suggestion!
