Happy Monday friends Happy New Year! As great at 2017 was, in the past few months I have been taking time to reflect on the mistakes I made, decisions I held back from and opportunities that I wanted to create but didn’t. In 2018, I have promised myself to simply let go of fear and comparison and take more time to say yes to the moments that scare me and go for it. With that, I am so excited to share my big announcement that I am starting a jewelry business! Saying this outloud has been the scariest but most relieving thing for me in years but I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I feel to know that I will be living out a dream of mine that I have had on my heart for many years. Today, I want to share what held me back from this and how I found my Moment of Yes.
Comparison is a word that we have all heard about being the thief of joy, reason for our demise and roadblock in our journey and let me tell y’all, I felt this hardcore. I had spent some much time comparing my journey to other bloggers and women who had started jewelry businesses and thinking that I could never be as good as them or as smart as them or as successful as them. In this new year, I am kissing comparison good-bye for good! I have seen how comparison has held me back from so many days of happiness and now that I have reached my Moment of Yes, I don’t want to go back.
Time is the one thing in life I wish I had way more of. Between blogging, working two jobs, volunteering and more, I felt as if I had no time to say yes to starting this business. Like so many other small business owners, by the end of the work day you are completely exhausted but still grab that cup of coffee and crank through the night to work on your creative projects and follow dreams that you have had forever. With me, I felt completed depleted every night and ran myself into an exhaustion wall of never feeling energized or prepared for the day ahead. Now that I know what is going to move me in 2018, I am using my Moment of Yes (to start a jewelry business) as a motivator to use my time more efficiently.
Though both comparison and time held me back, let me tell you what lead my to my Moment of Yes.
- Realizing that life does not stop for me or anyone else. If I want it, I have to be in control of getting in and being confident enough to know that I can have it.
- Realizing that my dreams don’t work unless I do. Period.
- Realizing that I can only say I want to do something to my friends and family so many times before they start wanting action.
- Realizing that if something is on my heart to do, then it is on my life to work.
Additionally, getting my eating and workout habits back on track are always a new year goal for me. So, I’m starting with Well Yes! Soups as I begin to do that. Well Yes! helps women say yes to deliciously crafted food, with real nutritious ingredients, so she has what she needs to say yes in the rest of her life and are crafted with care. What I love most is that Well Yes! Soups have ingredients like chicken meat with no antibiotics, and no artificial flavors/colors. However, they are filled with real sweet potatoes, kale, and quinoa so there is no compromising on flavors. My favorites flavors, which I totally recommend you try are: Chicken Noodle, Italian Vegetable with Farro Soup and Mediterranean-Style Wedding Soup. They each make great lunches and are my go-to midday treat.
There are so many other goals that I am excited to work on in 2018, but for now, I am excited to know that my Moment of Yes is going to open up doors for me that I have never seen before and for that, I am truly grateful. I can’t wait to share my new jewelry business with y’all and hope that in 2018, you embrace your dreams and get to your Moment of Yes.

I always wish I had more time in the day. When I was a kid I wished I had a Time Turner like in Harry Potter so I could double up on my hours in the day. You are absolutely right about how your dreams don’t work unless you do, and that family and friends get tired of hearing about our dreams without action. Good luck with all your dreams and aspirations!
