Happy Wednesday, sweet friends! After the long weekend, I am so excited to get back into the work flow this week and to be back on the blog. If you guys are following me on Instagram (which you should be), I shared more tips and tricks for my new space. & if you missed this, I recently moved into a studio apartment and have been slowly decorating, furnishing and organizing the space. This weekend on IG stories, I shared my cabinet organization, new bar stools and and wall decor that I’ve been wanting to get together. And seriously y’all, everytime I make one more step I see the light at the end of tunnel shine 10x brighter. I am absolutely loving this time creating my new space but cannot wait to be finished.
Back to my #workwear kick, today I’m excited to chat about mixing old with new. Even before I started blogging, just like many of you, I also felt the need to buy completely new outfits to keep up with those around me. Now, I feel that same pressure x2948 seeing all the girls who share completely new outfits everyday and seem to *never* re-wear anything. However, I have found that mixing new and old pieces create a fun challenge for me and help me get more wear out of each piece. A couple statement items I tend to keep in the rotation are pixie pants, harper pants, v-neck tops, two-strap sandals and classic pumps. Outside of those staples, I mix and match with bold colors and patterns to change any look. Especially for work, I want to maximize use of each piece before purchasing anything new.
Today’s outfit is the perfect example of mixing old with new. These blue pants have been in my closet for the past 2ish years and are easy for me to wear all year around. My top was a recent sale find for under $20 and will easily become a patterned staple item for me. Because it’s short sleeved with a simple neckline, I can pair the top with a blazer or cardigan when the temperatures cool down or wear it like this, without a jacket, during the warmer months. My super simple tote bag is great for everyday use for work but also is big enough to serve as a personal item when traveling. There aren’t any compartments inside, but for only $5, you can add an organizer or several purse pouches to make your items easier to find.
What are your favorite ways to maximize the pieces in your closet? Do you keep track of your daily outfits? I would love to know in the comments! Thanks so much for reading friends. Have a great day -xo, Azanique <3

You do workwear so well! I don’t keep track of what I wear, but I am definitely a huge believer of mixing old and new. It’s not that realistic nor a great idea to buy something and just wear it once!

I actually never buy whole outfits because I’m horrible at shopping. I feel like I’m constantly mixing new and old pieces, which I love because it helps me breathe new life into some of my older clothes. I love how you mixed old and new here! It makes me want more blue in my wardrobe.

I always keep my clothes for a long time and mix it up with old and new to refresh the look plus it helps you to avoid breaking the bank from buying new stuff all the time! You look fabulous and so professional for work! ❤️

I’ve been working on mixing old and new too! One thing I like to do is layer my summer dresses over long sleeve tops to give them more wear time.
