Happy Wednesday, sweet friends! I can hardly believe it is March but you know what that means? Celebration season! If you’ve noticed, most people have celebrations in the spring because it is the start of beautiful weather, warm holidays, graduations, weddings and more. With that, I am always the first person to offer up using my home as a fun space to hang out, host girls night and watch the latest movie on Netflix. At this point, I have pretty much perfected how quickly I can throw together a party with less than 24 hours notice for a successful event. So, let me take you step by step through my planning process!
One | Speed clean: The first thing I like to do is speed clean. I go around my home and dust off all the mirrors and pictures, refluff the pillows, pull out my favorite table books and start with clean surfaces. I set my timer for 30 minutes and challenge myself to get everything done before the timer goes off. Because my dog sheds A TON, I keep all my favorite “guests” pillows in storage and only bring them out for events to prevent them from being covered in dog hair. After I get those things set, I make sure there are no excess shoes, clothes, jewelry or dishes in the common spaces; place them where they need to be then get ready to head to the store.
Two | Store run: One of the best things about my town is that we have a ton of groceries store where I can pick up wine, flowers and snacks. When I am in a little bit of time crunch, I like to make sure I pick a store I can grab everything at once. Now, a girls night would not be complete without a bottle of wine to sip on. So, I head right to the wine section and pick up a bottle of Böen Pinot Noir, a crowd favorite amongst my friends. Sourcing from various vineyards throughout California, Böen’s Pinot Noir has a balance of smoothness when it hits the palette but a richness of flavors when drank alone or with snacks. In case you didn’t know, Joe Wagner is a 5th generation winemaker who has worked with top local winegrowers across the California for nearly two decades to bring us the best flavors in each bottle. While I didn’t grab it on this trip, I’m excited to try out the Böen Chardonnay for my next girls night. Both the Böen Chardonnay & Pinot Noir are around $20, which is a major win in my book. Since I usually have fresh fruit from the farmer’s market at my house, I only need to grab wine and flowers from the grocery store then I can head home. You can easily find where you can purchase Böen wine near you by utilizing the retailer locator on the Böen website here.

Three | Snacks: If you’ve been following me at all, you know I love a good charcuterie board for wine parties. They serve as the perfect variety of snacks but also small enough finger foods so people don’t feel like they have to eat a ton. I keep the board simple with food favorites: strawberries, nuts, 2 types of cheeses, crackers and grapes. I like to get this board prepared and into the fridge, so I am not rushing at the last minute. To tease my friends, I send a couple pictures of the board just to make sure I got their favorite snack but also to get them prepared for the night to come. If your crowd doesn’t enjoy charcuterie boards, a combination of different chocolates and popcorn are also a great alternative.
Four | final touches: Once my food is in the fridge, I’ll grab some clean classes and get them organized for my friends. I also pull out some of my favorite serving dishes such as a marble tray for more snacks my friends may bring and make sure I have hand towels for accidents. When my friends tell me they are on their way, I’ll do a quick sweep of my apartment, then light some candles/turn on the diffuser. Since I want my home to be as fresh as possible, I leave these task until the end. I make sure all the bar stools have space for purses and shoes and bodies to sit since we usually gather around the bar and chit chat before sitting down to enjoy the night. When people are parking, I’ll pour a glass of wine for each person so the wine can breath and I can hand them each a glass as soon as they come in the door.
Five | Reward myself! All the hard work is done and now it’s time to enjoy. One reason I love hosting is because I get to have my space serve as a relaxing corner of the world and I love that my friends entrust in me that way. So friends, that’s my guide to getting your home ready for guests in just a few hours. The funny part about this party in particular, is even though I tidied up my space to host, it’s a beautiful spring day and therefore we wanted to enjoy each other and our Böen wine outside!
How do you prepare for guests quickly? I would love to know your tips and tricks in the comments! Thanks so much for reading. -xo, Azanique <3

Totally agree about a speed clean.. I actually don’t like when I visit someone and their house is too spotless, makes me feel uncomfortable and like I shouldn’t sit down! Excited to try this wine, I’m a big fan of reds.
