Happy Tuesday, sweet friends! I hope you all had a great weekend ๐ I took a quick trip to a see a friend from home and let me just say, wow – it feels incredible to be with people again. Chelsi and I haven’t seen each other since 2017 and while she was in the Carolinas, we spent an evening catching up, toasting and getting reconnected. As much as I am cautious about large gatherings and seeing more people this summer, I am so excited to have time planned to see 1-2 friends at a time and reconnect. My heart was and continues to be so full! Next weekend, I am spending a few days with one of my best friends from college. Up until 3 weeks ago, it had been 3.5 years since the last time we were together. I’m pumped for a VA beach trip and for some much needed girl time ๐
In the spirit of gathering, I’ve been enjoying time practicing table settings for breaking bread together. Although I am not a cook, I usually order take-out for parties, Iย l o v e creating tablescapes. Over the past few months, I have focused on dinner and holiday table settings (i.e. holiday sunset dinner table) not realizing that breakfast and brunch tables can be even MORE fun to put together. Below, I’m sharing my current favorite summer brunch/breakfast tablescape to help you create your own this season. Let’s jump in!
When I came across these colorful plates, I literally could not resist. I am a sucker for plates in general but these were the perfect blend of primary colors with a fun design to use throughout the year. I paired the designย with melamine dinner plates and wicker chargers from Target. ย I’ve been reusing this gold cutlery set for months and I am so proud to say the piecesย don’tย tarnish during dishwashing cycles *praise hands* Using a few more seasonal items like bright drinking cups and thrifted flower vases, the table started to come together.
These mint wine glasses are my absolute favorite from Estelle. I have become slightly addicted to her hand blown, jewel colored stemware and now have 8 in my collection. I used mini cups/bowls from Paula Rallis Home, yellow Tommy Bahama bowls & a stripe tablecloth to finish the set-up.
As a non-cook, I wanted to show a realistic picture of what food I included in this tablescape. I didn’t bother trying to make a meal that I know I wouldn’t serve just to have a “full” table. I gathered:
Loose pecan granola with added cranberries
Fresh apple fritters from the bakery
Cranberry scones from Target (these are actually life changing)
With a breakfast gathering, I find that I can get away with a mix of store bought items and local pastries. If you’re entertaining a few guests and prefer not to cook at all, a BYOdish system works well and requires less planning for the hostess. IRL, my work BFF and I had brunch at her new house last week that consisted of local bread shop bagels, treats from a dessert cafe, fruit from the farmer’s market & daily harvest smoothies. Brunch was easy to set-up, a filling meal + required very little work on both of us to make happen. I’d consider this a success 10x over!

And just like that, you’re ready to host!
If you need more help on where to find tablescape items, I shared all my favorite resources here: Where I Source for Tablescapes. You can shop all the items I used here, minus the bowls, by clicking on any of the widgets above & below. Iย mayย receive a small commission when you purchase through these links + I am so grateful for that! If you plan on hosting guests soon, what are you most excited for: the decor or the food?
Thanks so much for reading! -xo, Azanique <3
