hi, sweet friends! Happy October and basically Fall to you 💜 If you’ve followed along for any amount of time, you know that I absolutely love Fall! This is truly my season to thrive, be happy as possible and wake up with so much gratitude in my heart that it (almost) hurts. Okay, dramatic, but there is truly no happiness that can compare to when I see the leaves changing. I am the very simple/basic gal who is taking pictures of leaves on the ground, videos of the leaves blowing in the wind and saving all the different shaped leaves for decor.
I am beyond excited for my first Fall in Charlotte and my first Fall in the past few years that I have not been thinking about, planning to or physically moving. To be honest, my body feels like I should be doing something new or different but I am so grateful to be feeling a bit settled and not in the midst of (another) cross-country move 🙏
Today friends, I’m coming in hot with a short, but sweet, blog post all about a recent fun table setting. Creating tablescapes, or being a “curator of pretty things”, as my friend Natasha would say, has been my creative outlet for so long. I get to play around with color and patterns and function and design and placement and just about everything that makes my creative, colorful, design adjacent heart happy.
Recently, I threw together this colorful tablescape for a late lunch/early dinner meal with friends. I had so much fun pulling out these placemats that I found on major sale and now need to buy them in blue (can you blame me?). This tablecloth was a local pick-up by a brand that I’ve been loving recently and was the foundation, along with the placemats, to create this fun table.
Lastly, I pulled together some of my go-to table items like the bamboo cutlery, recycled glass water cups, green washable napkins and the most lovely rustic decanter for water. I rarely use these thrifted marble candle holders but they were the perfect addition to hold sage green candles to set the tone. I finished off the table with tried and true wine glasses and hand-monogrammed place cards held by peaches to celebrate the end of my favorite fruit season.
Something about these pieces coming together make my heart so happy and excited for whatever “new” this season will bring. Joy and joy and joy and joy is all I feel looking at this table and reflecting on the fun had.
