Howdy, beautiful friends! I can’t believe it’s been three weeks since my last blog post given how consistent I had been but the last three weeks have truly been a whirlwind. Three trips, several social events, hiring, crazy busy work and on and on. As I’m writing this, I just finished packing for my first of the remaining three trips of 2023 and whew – I’m ready to sit down! I’ve kept my luggage half full and have lived with my toiletries half packed.
A few weeks back I pulled together the most fun, colorful + transitional tablescape in an attempt to spur up creativity. I had been eyeing this tablecloth from one of my favorite Charleston decor stores and was dying to pull out so many of my favorite Estelle stemmed wine glasses. Side note: I hope y’all were able to shop the annual Estelle birthday sale. It was actually extended through the end of the month this year and I, in true me fashion, couldn’t resist grabbing a few items. They also ran a most obsessed followers giveaway for three people and y’all, I won! Color me shocked, excited and given an excuse to pick up one of the new gift sets + limited edition coupes.
Okay, back to the table 👀 There’s nothing I love more than a little pattern + color play so I am still obsessing over mixing these melamine greek key plates from an At Home Tracey Boyd collection and lettuce salad plates from the Southern Living x Dillard’s home line. Even though the greens don’t match (sue me), I love these mini cocktail napkins from Casamia. I’m so sad this brand has shut down so I will continue to use these cocktail until they are literally falling apart. I mixed in a variety of clear water glasses from those simple in design to flutted to flex shaped, for a little special treat. I also mixed in a few different marble taper candle holders that are just substantial enough while minimal enough for colorful tapers.
This antique chinoiserie vase has been dropped and chipped quite a few times but I still love it and refuse to part with it. My hack with using vintage vases is to place a cup inside as the water holder. This way, if there are minor cracks or the vase has issues holding water, you don’t risk ruining the antique piece or the table it’s placed on. These bubble water carafes are a forever thrifted favorite and the perfect size to have multiple on the table filled with water for guests without being too fussy and in the way. Altogether, these colors came out perfectly and I was, in theory, all set to host a small cocktail lunch.
