Hey friends hey, happy #TacoTuesday! The week is already off to a great start for me and I am slowly getting back into the swing of work after three weeks off! I got completely spoiled by getting to sleep in and travel during the first part of August and am already itching for more travel. In October, I’m traveling to Chicago & Detroit, then Atlanta in November. I’m currently on the hunt for two daycations in September and am taking all your local NC suggestions and wine spots in Virginia.
So y’all, something I have been trying my hardest to do is add more color in to my wardrobe. Majority of my current wardrobe consist of two things: neutrals and blues. I have no idea how my entire closet became that way but as someone who loves colorful clothing and accessories, I am trying to change that up this season. So, today I’m sharing 5 easy ways to add pops of color in your wardrobe.
1 | Patterns – For me, patterns are the best way to add in colors. Because most bold patterns like florals/paisleys have multiple colors in them, this is an easy way to to mix in colorful accessories and layering pieces to blend together. Patterns also allow for colorful solid such as colored jeans or cardigans to style with patterns you love.
2 | Bright Shoes – Shoes will forever be my guilty pleasure and one of my favorite ways to add color into my wardrobe. Even in business professional jobs, your shoe color is usually the most flexible piece of clothing you can wear. I try to only grab colorful shoes since all my basics, including black and neutrals, are covered x10 in my closet. And because shoes can make an entire outfit, I use pops of shoe colors in more neutral outfits to brighten the entire look. I just snagged this fringed blue pair and cant stop wearing them!
3 | Playful Earrings– Y’all, it’s probably a no brainer that colorful earrings are my jam. On my IG stories, I’m forever sharing my weekly earring pickups that include all colors from yellow to magenta to red to gold and so on. My favorite place to grab costume earrings is at Target from their Sugar Fix By Bauble Bar collection. Everything in the collection is under $30 and many pieces are almost identical to Baublebar styles that can be as pricey as $60.
4 | Bags – I am a firm believe in the power of handbags! After I got my LV Neverfull (that I’ve wanted since I was like 10) I made a vow to back off handbags for sometime. TBH, it was such a big purchase and I didn’t need to be throwing more money out for new handbags. Now that I’ve had it some time and can definitely say I’ve gotten amazing use out of it, I’m ready to get some less pricey bold color bags for fall. Target and Old Navy usually have the best tote bags and crossbody bags for everyday wear throughout all seasons. Nordstrom has a great selection of designer bags and a much larger selection of styles, colors, brands and more. When I pick-up a new bag, the first thing I’m looking for a good quality, since I tend to pack my bag to the brim, and solid structure so the bag doesn’t look stretched when full. If they check off those boxes, then I’m good to go.
Well friends, that’s all that I have for today! In the comments, let me know your favorite ways to add color to your wardrobe! Have a beautiful day -xo, Azanique <3

These are great tips – I love the pattern of your dress! I wish I was more of a shoe person. I walk pretty much everywhere (I don’t have a car) so I always have to go for comfort and longevity. But now that I think about it, a colorful pair of sneakers might be the way for me to go!
