Happy Monday, beautiful people! How are you guys?! I hope you’re thinking warm, safe and sane despite the crazy weather we have been having. Seriously, it was 80 degrees on Thursday then 45 degrees on Saturday. Last week, Chicago was basically Iceland but people were on the beach in Georgia. I can barely keep up but I’m grateful for a brand new week of new opportunities and major blessings. Over on my Instagram stories, I asked my followers for feedback on their morning routines. With my inconsistent schedule, a morning routine has never been something I’ve gotten completely right and stuck with. However, I’ve scheduled all my classes, meetings, workout classes and video chats around the same times so I can find a flow in my week. I’ll be checking in on my blog post next Monday with an update of how well I did.
Anyway, I can barely believe Valentine’s Day is already this week! January was extremely long but February is already flying by. I absolutely love dressing up for holidays, but in the recent years of celebrating with my girlfriends on this lovely day, I’ve opted for a more casual and comfy look. I just picked up this red chunky sweater last week because I am trying to add more color into my wardrobe As we transition through seasons. Side note: If you’ve ever wondered how much people “do for the gram”, let me tell you about what I did. When I was looking for some chic style inspiration, I found that I loved seeing chunky knit sweaters paired with raw hemmed jeans and pumps. Since I’m only 5’1, heels are part of my daily life but this also means that most of the jeans I buy are too long and often need to be cuffed at the bottom. But instead of cuffing and ruining the look I was going for, I watched several YouTube tutorials on creating your own raw hemmed jeans, grabbed a pair of scissors and went to work on these pants. I cut several inches off, then began pulling out threads to loosen the bottom of the jeans. After creating a huge mess of scraps and 20 minutes of time, I had the exact look I was going for. Paired with my favorite Steve Madden pumps and Neverfull, this casual date night look is complete and perfect for any holiday with your beau. How are you guys celebrating the holiday this year? Are you hosting/attending a Galentine’s event or celebrating with your significant other or both? I would love to know in the comments! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day -xo, Azanique <3
