Happy Tuesday, sweet friends! Wherever you’re reading from, I hope you are safe and sound from Hurricane Dorian that swept through the southeast this weekend! Luckily, we didn’t get anything more than heavy rains for a night or so. Considering how bad the hurricane hit last year around this time, I am extremely thankful for no damage here nor near my friends and family. Outside of that, despite the short week last week, it was one of those weeks where I felt like my mind was all over the place. Maybe because the previous weekend signified “the end of Summer” or the pressure in the air or something else, but the week was just plain off for me. On weeks like that, I know I have to extend extra grace to myself to take things day by day or hour by hour.
This week, I’m looking forward to a work conference at the end of the week and the official start of Fall for me since I will be switching out some of my wardrobe and focusing on finding seasonal decorations and shopping for fall work wear. And y’all, I know I say this everytime, but I am *this* close to finishing my apartment. Last Monday, I picked up bar stools, after a few failed online order attempts, and a few other small decor pieces. Next on my list is two console tables, a new tv and a coffee table. As always, all my studio apartment progress can be found under my Instagram highlight called “NEW APARTMENT”.
So since I’ve been posting my daily work #ootd pics in my IG stories, I’ve been getting a ton of work wear related questions on what you can actually wear to work. As always, and the most boring answer to that question is, know your company dress code policy. Most companies aren’t going to have exact rules against prints unless you’re working in more of a business professional environment such as a law firm. However, most companies are moving towards a business casual workplace and as I’ve mentioned before, we have a very casual workplace. Because of so, I don’t fear wearing bold prints or styles. For sure, I am usually the most “dressed” person, because I don’t believe you can be “over dressed”, and I actually love it. I am not as productive when I don’t feel my best, so I try to put my best foot forward daily when planning what I’m going to wear.
So friends, don’t hate me but this dress is much more than anything else I tend to share. Originally $120, I found it on sale for 50% off + had a $15 off coupon, so I got it at a steal of a price. Right now, you can find it 20% off here. Paired with one of my favorite simple pair of pumps and black earrings, this is an easy way to be in and out of the house and into the office quick. I’ll be wearing this dress again this week with a black cardigan and black flats to share on my IG stories and be added to my #whatiworetowork IG stories series for more causal inspo. With anything and everything, wear whatever you feel comfortable and confident in and be proud of how you style it.
Well friends, thanks so much for reading! I hope you shine bright this week and exude a new glow of confident each and every day. We’ll chat again soon! – xo, Azanique <3

I love that you elevated this look for work with a classic nude pump! Also thank goodness the storm didn’t do more damage than it did. So glad you were spared too! Last year was definitely much worse.

This leopard dress is so pretty! I work in a casual environment so I always end up wearing a t-shirt and jeans to work but I think I need to spruce it up and get this beauty!
