Happy, happy Thursday y’all! I hope everyone is having an amazing week. For me, this week actually felt like the first week of the new year with so many changes happening and my worklife ramping up majorly. For those who caught my Q&A/Life/Balance post, you read that I work for a local non-profit. If you also work in this realm or know others who do, you know that the first quarter of the year is usually the craziest with applying for grants, fundraising, events and more. So this week has been insane preparing to go into that busy season plus being busy in my personal life with making some changes that I hope to be able to share soon!
Today, I’m sharing my tips and tricks for shopping workout wear. With the new year in full swing and spring vacation time right around the corner, I have been getting more and more request to talk about where I find great quality workout clothes that are affordable and stylish. So, here are my top three choices and why:
Nordstrom Rack – If you want to find designer items for less (like 30%-70% off) all year around, you have to be shopping at Nordstrom Rack. They keep brands such as Nike, Zella, Adidas, Rowley Fitness , Badgley Mischka and more, fully stocked all year long. Whenever I see major brands in department stores or their respective retailers, I head straight to Nordstrom Rack and look through their selection. Many times, I have found the identical items at half the price or similar items (from last season or so) at a deep discount. If you can wait until Clear The Rack season, you can get any clearance workout gear for an additional 25% off which basically means getting your favorite Nike tanks and shorts for 20% of their retail price.
Old Navy – Y’all, an Old Navy trip is routinely part of my weekly schedule. I grab all of my bright colored tops, patterned leggings and graphic workout tees from Old Navy. To me, they have a large selection of workout gear that comes in sizes from XS-3X, which is crucial as a blogger when linking items. I never want to exclude people from being able to shop through my blog so getting cute workout gear from Old Navy is a way to make sure that styles I love are available in multiple sizes. Always keep your eye out for Old Navy deals (usually a new deal everyday) that can save you tons. I tend to pick up the most goodies when I get Super Cash, which can be used on clearance, or when workout wear is already 30% off and they have a site wide 20% off coupon that you can stack. Since Old Navy sizes can sometimes run different than other large brands, my recommendation is to try on a bunch of items in different sizes then keep track of what styles fit your body best in what size. This will save you a ton of time in the long run and you will be able to jump on those daily sales easily.
Target – This one was probably a no brainer but Target is in my ‘multiple trips a week’ basket of life. Up until last year, I never shopped for sports bra, leggings or anything related at Target. However, I have found that they have the best options for basics and building your workout gear wardrobe. When it comes to getting simple pieces such as black bras, grey workout pants, white zip-up jackets and other neutral colored pieces, Target definitely takes the number one spot. However, I rarely see these items go on major sale. My best tip is to shop clearance or wait until they have their C9 Champion collection BOGO 50% off, then stock up!
Honorable mention: Kohl’s & Macy’s
Where do y’all find your best workout gear options? These are my top 5 but I am always looking for suggestions! Leave me a comment and let me know! -xo, Azanique <3
