Happy Friday, my friends! It’s hard to believe that we are at the middle of the month and one step closer to Thanksgiving, Christmas and NYE. Outside of being a season of celebrations, I am most looking forward to the holidays to rest. Like lay in bed all day, cycle between napping and reading, only get up to change PJs and wash my face – type of rest. I’ve been in need of that type of break and after this season of trying to move; starting a new job; getting to the finish line of grad school and more, I need it more than ever.
Speaking of moving, I shared a few weeks ago in a life update that I was moving to Austin for a new job. Well, after months and months of looking for apartments, losing out on several favorites and spending $500+ on application fees, I decided to switch directions. At the same time I was trying to figure out what to do with the move and was about to sign a lease for a place that I barely liked, I found out that our hard date to be back in office was moved to February 1 AKA 2+ months after my current lease ended. After debating for a while about where to go, I went back to my spring plan of living in a new place for a while.
Throughout the pandemic, I debated back and fourth about maybe living in a different city for a month or two. But with my previous job’s work load and the outrageous cost to rent two places at once, I moved away from that idea. Since two rents wouldn’t be the case now that my lease is ending, I’m officially moving to *drum roll please*
H O L Y city aka Charleston! If you guys remember, I took a short trip there back in September with my two neighbors and loved every second. I also met my internet BFF, Venita, IRL for the first time. Shortly after, Charleston quickly became the number one spot I considered working remotely from in the spring. The move wasn’t suitable then but is now the perfect option to escape to this beautiful city for the holidays!
This move is literally the light at the end of a dark tunnel of moving struggles. I am still moving to Austin in January but with this new plan, I can actually enjoy the holidays on the east coast, live in a city I love, and most importantly, give myself more time to find the perfect place in Austin.
Being that my lease ends in twoish weeks, this move is coming fairly quickly. I know the packing and in-between time of my new lease starting will be a little messy but I am so excited for this season and look forward to every second of Charleston. If you guys have any suggestions for places I should go, please leave them in the comments! I’ll be visiting every place I can in the 11 weeks there 🙂
Thanks so much for reading and for sticking with me through all my moving struggle sharing. I am so appreciative of you all! xo, Azanique <3

Wow! So much going on, but I’m glad it all worked out. I worked in Charleston and lived in the lovely town of Summerville a few years ago. So many wonderful places to eat😋 You’re going to have a great time! Hugs, RO
