Hey y’all! I know, I know – I have been a little MIA lately. But I’m excited to share why very, very soon. Last weekend, I took a quick trip to my homeland of New Jersey for a few days. I visited with family in MD, went to the She’s The First summit in NYC and caught up with old friends – all in less than 72 hours. I can’t even begin to tell you how tired I was y’all, but so full of gratefulness and happiness that I have needed. Friday, I plan to get into some real deep thoughts about blogging, but I can tell y’all one thing now – I don’t think I have ever felt so exposed and vulnerable, than when I have entered in to the blogging world. As hard I try to be my very best, I know that I have many shortcomings and will forever be working on them. A trip home and a conference full of brilliant, change making and ambitious women, was just what I needed to get my head back on my shoulders this week.
Anyway, now that the #NSale is over (finally, y’all) I feel comfortable enough to share some fall pieces that aren’t being over purchased and shared by every blogger in the world. (LOL, JK, not really but it felt like it). There are 5 staple items that I recommend for everyone transitioning to fall. I think each of these items are important but they can be worn all year around if you style them right, so you want to invest in/find the best pieces that work for you (your budget, body type, personal style)
White jeans – Y’all, it is no surprise that I L O V E white jeans. You can see how I styled them here and here. But seriously, if you don’t transition anything else season to season, I would suggest white jeans. They are so versatile and look good with bright summer colors or deep fall colors and boots. Also, if you can, I suggest getting three pair: Work white professional pants, white ripped jeans for weekend fun and white jeans without rips that can be dressed up or dress down. Here are my favorites:
Open toe booties – I’m 100% bootie obsessed and think open-toe booties are the perfect shoe to transition. I love booties in the summer with cut-off shorts and a slouch tee or during the fall with ripped jeans and a cozy sweater. My open-toe booties collection grows by the day and I have 0 shame about it. Here are my favorites:
Too many basics – Yes, this is where I am all for splurging a bit or getting basics in excess. During fall, you’ll quickly find that you are layering your basics so much and running out of options. I recommend to find the basics you love. Tunic tops, solid knit scarves and colored jeans. They are the items I love most in closet for fall and I know I go through them so quick. The best part is that if you have light feeling clothing, you can layer them in fall and wear alone during summer. So you get all around use out of the basics that you love. Here are my favorites:
Simple jewelry – Am I the only accessory hoarder here? I sure hope not! I basically never get rid of jewelry, so I like to get pieces that will look good regardless of season. I also prefer much simpler pieces and only get bold pieces for special occasions. Your go to multi-strand necklaces and bon-bon earrings will still be in style this fall and reusing them save you trouble of purchasing new. Here are my new favorites:
Bold bags – BUY THE BOLD BAG. Yes, do it. 1. You won’t regret it. 2. Bold bags are the perfect accessory to any simple outfit 3. Bold bags are conversation starters – seriously. I cannot tell you how many times I have met girls out and we became friends just based off their bags. So, buy the bold bag and make it work for your style. I always suggest bags that can be for play and work, but even identifying a bold work bag and a bag causal bag, will be a great investment for your wardrobe over a few years.
Well y’all, that all that I have for you now. I have a super busy week ahead of me for work and blogging, but I’ll be back on Wednesday. Have a wonderful week, xoxo
